It's a Government Job

Elroy supervises.

And to all you CHSers - no comments on the t-shirt!

Ever Wonder?

Ever wonder why something that's hilarious to your infant one day elicits absolutely no reaction the next? Me too.

I recently made up a song about various body parts for Jackson. As soon as my producer is finished mixing the track, I'll let you listen. ;) And whenever I'd get to Jackson's ears, he'd crack up. So one night this past week, I asked Aaron to get the camera to capture this goofy grin. This is what we got:

Nothing. They grow up so fast.

And from about 15 minutes later:

See he IS working on sitting up! He's sitting on my lap as I type. He's a helper.

VOTE FOR JACKSON!

We entered Jackson in a photo contest with Parenting Magazine. (Hey, the kid needs a job. Diapers aren't free.) Please take a moment to click here and vote for him!

This is the pic we submitted. Thanks Nathan, for an awesome photo shoot!

Family Resemblence

I started back at school today, which was tough for two reasons. First, I miss Jackson's evening feeding and bedtime since I don't get home until almost 9pm. I don't get to nurse him, get him ready for bed, read him his bedtime story, and rock him to drowsy (not to sleep since we want him to fall asleep on his own). Second, I had an early morning meeting at work today, meaning I didn't get to spend my morning time with him either. I really, really, REALLY missed my little boy today.

So I'm sitting in class counting the minutes until I can leave, drive the 25 minutes home and see - but not disturb - my sleeping baby, when my phone goes off. It's an email. From Aaron. I read: "Subject: Enjoy." Hmmm... I open the email to the following messsage and picture:

"are you sure he doesn't look like me?"

Thanks for always knowing how to make me smile, Aaron. And yes, there, I think he does a bit.

Hey Dapper Dan

Guess who was the best dressed kid at school today?

THIS GUY!!!!
Yes, those are baby penny loafers.

Woah!

This video cracks me up. Taken over Christmas at the Gallagher Compound in TX. Mom is attempting to play with Jackson, but ends up scaring him. It's funny and sad, but mostly funny. This video got me through my first week back at work.

3 months!

Jackson turned 3 months old Wednesday. He's getting to be such a big boy. From our measurements, he's 13.5lbs and 23.5" tall. He's working very hard on sitting up and we think he's going to roll over any day now. Stay tuned.

Welcome!

So a blog we have started. It's our easy breezy way of letting you being in control of what you hear about our family. We don't want to be "that guy" and bombard with you pictures of what we think is the most adorable, talented and gifted child ever. Nor do we want you to feel left out. So here is our compromise. Check back often. We'll try to post at least once a week. Key word: TRY.

Guess we're officially "bloggers." Seems kinda self indulgent. But whatever.

Enjoy!
